15 days / 14 nights - Thailand´s facets

Active & Yoga holiday

Northern Thailand – also called Lanna – is a region famous for its green valleys, extensive hilly landscape and cultural heritage. Lanna was isolated from the rest of the country until the early 20th century and thus could develop an independent culture and history. The North had its own kings and language.
Geographically seen is Lanna separated from Lao and Myanmar by mountains and the Mekong River and from central Thailand by the rainforest. The climate in the North is tropical but more moderate than in the rest of Thailand.

The hill tribes who originally descended from China and Tibet settled down in the mountains within the past two centuries. The six major tribes are the Karen, the Hmong, the Akha, the Yao, the Lahu and the Lisu. Every hill tribe has an own culture, language and its traditional cloths.
