If you want to go trekking and enjoy the nature, Northern Thailand is the perfect destination for you to go. Discover the hilly landscape and the jungle! The Province Mae Hong Son in the North of Thailand will welcome you with waterfalls, hot springs, impressive caves and hill tribes – perfect for adventurous tours and individual round trips.
During this round trip you will get from Chiang Mai via Pai and Soppong to Mae Hong Son that is close to the Burmese border. You will enjoy sportive activities at each stop: cycling, elephant riding or hiking in the mountains – this area has a lot to offer! And moreover you will see the cultural highlights of the North. We will pick routs for you off the touristic paths which will provide you a unique experience of this beautiful area.
Day 1: Chiang Mai – Temple
You will be picked up at the airport and brought to your hotel which is located a little outside the city. In the afternoon, you will see Chiang Mai’s landmark: the famous golden temple on the Doi Suthep mountain. After 120 steps you will reach the fascinating building and you will have an astonishing view over the whole city.
Afterwards you will visit the famous Night Bazaar. A lot of goods that are produced in Chiang Mai are sold here. Thus it is the perfect place for souvenir shopping and the vivid place is really worth a visit. During dinner you can exchange the impressions of your first day in Northern Thailand.

Day 2: Chiang Mai – Cycling Tour
You will start for you cycling tour in Chiang Mai City at 9 am. You will drive along the river, stop at a temple, bike to a missionary island that was used as a leprosy colony in previous years, through rice fields, orchards and small villages until you reach Baan Tawai – the famous handicraft village. You will get a wonderful insight into the local life during this tour.

Day 3: Pai
After a three hours’ drive on bendy roads in the mountains you will come to Pai. After lunch you will get the chance to discover the beauty of this village: see the hot springs, the waterfall, a Chinese village and a small elephant camp. You can watch these fascinating animals taking a bath in the river or ride on their back through the jungle for one hour. In the evening, you can take a walk on the night market.

Day 4: Pai – Soppong
You will start at 10 am with a 1.5 hours’ drive to Soppong with a stop at the view point. Check in “Little Eden” resort. After a break and lunch (not included), you will start for the Lod cave at 4 pm. The Lod cave is one of the most famous limestone caves of the region. You will be guided through the cave with a gas lamp. At the end of the tour you can watch thousands of swallows and bats coming back to their cave. You will be back at your resort around 7 pm.

Day 5: Soppong Trekking
You will start your trekking tour through the jungle, over hills and through green valleys at 9 am. Enjoy the pure nature and refresh yourself in the waterfalls. You will pass a hill tribe village, get new energy during lunch and continue your tour through the jungle. The highlight in the end of the tour will be an exciting ride on a bamboo raft. You will be picked up at the river and be back at your hotel around 5 pm. The tour requires average sportiness.

Day 6: Mae Hong Son - Chiang Mai
A 1.5 hours’ drive through the mountains will bring you to Mae Hong Son. The small town is located at the border to Burma which is also reflected in its architecture. First of all you will visit the Shan temple on the hill where you can enjoy a breath taking view over the hilly landscape. After lunch you will visit another impressive temple at the lake.
From November until the end of January, this area is exceedingly beautiful because the jungle is cluttered with yellow blossoms.
In the afternoon you will take a short flight back to Chiang Mai. You will be picked up at the airport and brought to the hotel. Your will spend your last night in the city centre which will give you the chance to shop for some souvenirs on the market.
