1-day tour to the Doi Inthanon National Park.
Pick-up at your hotel at 8 a.m.
The scenic Doi Inthanon National Park is located about 100 km away from Chiang Mai.
Its highest peak, the Doi Inthanon, with its 2565 of altitude, is Thailand’s highest mountain.
The area has been designated as a national park since the 1970s. The lower forest areas once had to give way to rice cultivation. In the meantime, though, fruit and vegetable cultivation have become the area’s population’s main way of making a living. Thanks to this agricultural project, initiated and promoted by the King of Thailand and the royal family, the rain forests in the higher regions could be preserved.
Take a short walk through the forest of mist close to the peak.
Other attractions include some of the country’s most beautiful waterfalls as well as a pair of chedis dedicated to the King and Queen. Furthermore, you will see villages of the Hmong and Karen mountain tribes and you’ll be introduced to the royal agricultural project.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, you will take a walk along the river down hill. Enjoy the wonderful nature until you arrive at a Lahu hilltribe village, where you can see how they make coffee.
In the late afternoon you’ll be transferred back to the resort, where you will arrive in the early evening hours.
